What is Trezor Suite?

Trezor Suite is the official desktop application for Trezor hardware wallets. It provides a secure interface for managing accounts, sending and receiving funds, installing apps (for Trezor Model T), and creating encrypted backups — while ensuring your private keys remain on the device.

Quick setup (5 steps)

Download: Get the official Trezor Suite from the Trezor website and verify the installer checksum.
Connect: Plug in your Trezor device and follow on-screen prompts to initialize or recover.
Secure seed: When creating a new wallet, write down the recovery seed on paper — never store it digitally.
PIN & passphrase: Set a strong PIN and consider enabling an optional passphrase for wallet partitioning.
Verify: Confirm addresses on your device screen before sending funds.

Note: Always use the device screen for confirmations; the desktop app shows helpful context but should not be trusted alone for final approval.

Best practices — checklist

Never enter your recovery seed into a computer or phone.
Verify the Trezor Suite download checksum and PGP signature when available.
Use a strong, unique PIN and consider a passphrase for additional security.
Keep firmware up to date, but review release notes for breaking changes.
For high-value holdings, use coin‑specific derivations and multiple devices for redundancy.

Troubleshooting & recovery

If a device is lost or damaged, restore using your recovery seed on a new Trezor or a compatible BIP39-compatible wallet. If you suspect seed compromise, move funds to a new wallet immediately.
